Hi PJCA families,

We are really excited to see so many new players representing PJCA at this upcoming Peel Carnival.

We hope you make heaps of new friends.

Some carnival Hacks:

🥤Hydrate! Have plenty of water the day before, hydrate during the game and if needed have dissolvable magnesium powder to avoid muscle tiredness.
Iced water – pop that water bottle in the freezer now.❄️
💦Wet flannels that can be put on the back of the neck to cool down players
😎Be SunSmart- gazebos, hats, zinc, lip balm with sunscreen (that can be kept in a pocket and reapplied on the field). sunscreen needs to be reapplied every few hours.
🎪Gazebos can be arranged in 2 rows for maximum shade. Some grounds don’t have much shade. Sit together as a supporter group.
Don’t know how to put up a gazebo- jump on a corner and you will learn fast! NB: if it is windy please secure the posts with extra reinforcements.
🌯Players sit together to eat lunch… this is important team bonding time & is time for a laugh as a team. 🤣
💪🏻Keep up the chat in the field! If a team mate makes a mistake – get around them! Peel teams are known for being supportive and playing in good spirits.
It is a privilege to play! NO unbecoming behaviour is accepted, that is sledging, equipment damage or swearing. Accept the umpires decision and let your cricket speak for itself. Parent & guardians are asked to ensure their player makes good choices. Applaud good play of both teams!
⛑First Aid Kit , all the usual stuff, plus stingoes, deep heat, tape, fixomull, cooling gel,ice packs or eye drops. Remember your players medication ie. Ventolin etc
⏰Be on time, at least 45 minutes to the game – it is good manners to the coach or team manager know if you are running late.😉
🤕Got a player with an injury or Illness?- please let the coach and team manager know.
📸Take heaps of photos! 3 days of cricketing fun goes fast and there will be some great memories! Those people that cannot make it really appreciate the updates on WhatsApp.
Look after the kit & balls- please..🏏
Help out however you can so the coach and do their role.. it feels good to help & you set a great example to the next gen👏🏻
Get the scorers a coffee! 🤣 that is really important.
